Our bungalows are situated on Tanna island in Vanuatu, on a hill perfectly overlooking constantly erupting Mt. Yasur, about 2 miles southwest of its crater. The bungalows are nestled in pristine, mountainous, tropical rainforest mixed with spectacular sand formations and ravines and provide a perfect base for hiking. A crystal clear river is just a minute walk. Hot springs (Ipeukel), caves (Port Resolution) and a number of welcoming native villages are scattered nearby.
There is no public or scheduled transportation on Tanna island. We'd be happy to transfer you from the airport to the bungalows and back, just add a note in your reservation mentioning your flight details. The journey from Tanna airport takes about 1 h 30 min by a 4 x 4 vehicle. Please note that ONE WAY transfer will be charged 5000 vatu if you travel alone, or 2500 per person if you travel in a group. For example, a round trip from the airport for two people will cost 10,000 vatu.
Hint: You might be able to travel by a shared truck from Lenakel to the volcano area. Then make your way to Kalili village which is a 20 minute walk from our property.
Tropical breakfast (fruits, bread, tea) is provided for free to all our visitors. Mike's wife will cook for you local dishes made with root vegetables (manioc, taro, kumala, yam), coconut milk, island cabbage, breadfruit, rice, fish, chicken etc for lunch and dinner. We provide for free clean and safe drinking water, sourced from rainwater.

Please note that there is no ATM on Tanna island that accepts your international bank card. We only accept payments in cash for the accommodation, airport transfers and/or activities. To avoid the high cash in advance commission at a local tourist office in Lenakel, please make sure you depart Port Vila with sufficient cash in local currency, Vanuatu vatu.
